šÆšµ METAPLANET MAKES FIRST MAJOR ACQUISITION TO BUILD BITCOIN FINANCIAL ECOSYSTEM
Metaplanet has agreed to acquire Siiibo Securities, a licensed Japanese securities firm and operator of a retail-focused corporate bond platform.
Following the July close, the company will be renamed Metaplanet Securities, marking Metaplanetās first full-scale M&A and the first concrete step in its āProject Novaā initiative.
The acquisition gives Metaplanet a Type I Financial Instruments license and an online securities platform, creating a pathway to offer Bitcoin-linked yield products to Japanese investors.
The company says it aims to help unlock a portion of Japanās Ā„1,190 trillion sitting in cash deposits and low-yield savings products as the country shifts from deflation toward inflation.
Metaplanet currently holds 40,177 BTC, making it Asiaās largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
