Today @NBCNews shared an article that incorrectly claims that fewer people are using X today than previously. However, the data used in the article is based solely on estimates from @SensorTower, which does not have access to the actual data from these platforms and does not include mobile.
tl/dr: Both our own data and self-reported data from other platforms tells a different story.

this isn't even a full-throated endorsement of what this site used to be. plenty of journalists have gotten things wrong during breaking news events in an effort to be "first." it's just that now there's a monetary reason to have any information, real or not, and that's an issue
