Spotify co-CEO @GustavS says the biggest misconception about Spotify is that it pays artists less than other streaming companies. "[Spotify] paid out over $70B to the music industry, $11B of those just last year. That's more than anyone has paid anyone ever in the music industry."

Keyboards are so 1983. You only need one key—Monokey, the limited edition device that turns your voice into text in Monologue. We're giving away 10, along with a free annual subscription to Monologue.

Not showing fucking cookie banners, for example. You can bake it into the browser and set that preference once. Or, hey, maybe realising that this whole law is just an engine that produces bureaucracy but doesn't actually benefit anyone who isn't Very German and "wants to see my data" and that it doesn't solve any real issues for anyone at all and go back to the drawing board? I said it before: if you come up with a law that says "everyone must wear seatbelts in the car" but many many years later you still have people choking on their seatbelts or putting them on wrong or car manufacturers giving every seat five seatbelts — then the law is wrong. "A system is what a system does" and you can't say "the law is correct, but it's just that 90% of people misinterpret it". The fact that there's people actually believing that it has an effect and that their data is meaningfully (!) protected in some way after the introduction of these fucking laws — it makes me depressed and I mean that in the most literal sense of the word.

I wonder, which alternative would you propose?

Speaking of pain, pressure and angst leaving a body, this clip of Ronnie O' Sullivan (greatest snooker player of all time) winning his 7th world championship, and speaking with his opponent is beautiful and haunting. Such immense sacrifice to achieve.

here’s an idea of mine for a product - like @JuneDotSo but for usage-based products. start with mapping features and meters. report usage through @segment . do forecasting, trend analysis and such. be your analysis buddy. of course be snappy fast as #linear. charge by event.

layer on a plans concept where you can set limits for meters - start to understand qualified leads. secondly, add the entitlement api that @stripe subscriptions is missing on top. #buildinpublic

One unsolved problem (for me) is how to have a more fine grained authorization models in a sync-engine. You know, google drive style where resources can be shared with individuals and groups. #syncengine #localfirst

I’ve seen some systems have a per-resource change log. Maybe that’s the right path - separate the problems of knowing what resources exist from keeping each resource up to date.

I can imagine that in most systems the change log is per workspace/tenant. For FGA you would need per user logs, or transform the global log into a per-user log on access.
