As a tax on coastal elites, Texas should tax all data centers a bit more heavily.
My bet is that for 90% of relevant consumer applications that they won’t need the latest cloud hosted AI model but some smaller distilled AI model that works on a laptop or Mac mini.
Hardware gains will have yield.
The PUE is worse but the kWh per a desired answer will be lower on the whole.
The regs will force this.
