Imagine having such distorted perspective
I do. It’s called the United States of America.
Last time I checked, it wasn’t Iran that was the richest country in the world while denying its people basic rights and necessities such as universal healthcare, affordable education, and basic labor rights. The US Congress has had an approval rating of 7-9% for literally decades, and the duopoly couldn’t care less -because the oligarchy represented by that duopoly allows no alternatives. Of all the industrialized nations, the American people have by far the lowest standard of living, from the highest infant mortality rates to the worst labor laws and largest prison population, they’re stuck in a system designed to be corrupted and influenced by the rich and invincible to the poor. From gerrymandering to super PACs and superdelegates, the US is a fundamentally flawed system that is a giant casino for oil sheikhs and billionaires, and a fucking nightmare for the American people.
It’s actually astonishing that there hasn’t been another uprising and revolution in the US, because in any other country in the world, people would be literally chasing their politicians down the streets if they even dared to suggest taking away their healthcare and labor rights and instead spend their taxes on endless catastrophic wars to keep the oligarchy and their donors happy.
