This morning @davebiddle and I will be doing a Buckeye fantasy draft. The rules are it will be from Tressel era on and you declare which era of offense you are running. QB - RB - RB - WR - WR - WR - TE
The answer is because each of the 6 Lubbock County judges is elected. They know the ruling should have been in favor of the NCAA. However, living there, that ruling would be a death knell for their re-election. Instead showing balls and assuming the case, they import this guy.
NEWS: Big Ten officials are expected to discuss in the upcoming days a league-wide mandate to not play Texas Tech in any sports, per three Big Ten sources. This is in the wake of Nebraska AD Troy Dannen informing his staff today that they aren't allowed to schedule Texas Tech.
Steve, you seem to be the one uninformed. No one said he was a TT grad. Just that he's terrible at his job. The one he "retired" from 14 years ago.
Try and keep up.
Ok for the uninformed. Judge Curry has no affiliation with Texas Tech or Lubbock. He was appointed by a Texas A&M judge and a Baylor judge after the local district court judge recused himself. Judge Curry is a University of Houston law grad. So go on with the conspiracy.
Ken Curry is the name of the judge who gave the injunction to Brendan Sorsby. He retired in 2012 (not a misprint). Yes, 14 years ago, he "retired."
They dusted this guy off just in time for him to do something sleezy (and that's being kind).
-@DanWetzel is on point, per usual: "Simply put, the decision Monday by Judge Ken Curry, who hails from Tarrant County (Fort Worth) but was brought into Lubbock County for this case, is ridiculous, short-sighted and illogical. That's perhaps why Curry's three-page order offered no significant justification."

Texas Tech should have done the right thing and said you know what we gotta take this L. We didn't do our due diligence on the player and his history and that's on us. They could easily say nah we screwed up not doing our homework so we can't let this fly on our watch.
