This week I’ve searched on an @RNLI lifeboat for someone missing. I know nothing about them, where they are from or anything about them yet I did my upmost. Sadly, not everyone can be saved, but I’ll do my upmost to help those in need without judgement. #ProudOfOurCrowd
We're proud of the lifesaving work our volunteers do in the Channel – we make no apology for it. Those we rescue are vulnerable people in danger & distress. Each of them is someone’s father, mother, son or daughter - every life is precious. This is why we launch:

Our Swim Safe programme we've facilitated with @Swim_England since 2013 is set to expand this year by 30,000 spaces thanks to the @RYA.
The free sessions are aimed at 7-14 year olds and teach vital lifesaving skills such as how to #FloatToLive

I must admit, I feel incredibly proud to of had an impact on so many lives, however, on each and every call I’ve been on, it’s been a team effort alongside many other dedicated @RNLI volunteers - a team of like minded people with many I now call my friends.

A 7 metre yacht with engine failure needing assistance near the Wareham Channel would turn out to be Dave’s 1000th shout in 27 years of dedicated volunteering!
