Hey Riftbounders - we've discovered an area of ambiguity causing confusion for judges globally that is centered around the rules for copying tokens, such as with LeBlanc and Reflection tokens.
With Unleashed’s launch in China, their judge community received official guidance from us that tokens copy everything about the unit including whether the unit is a token or card and this replaces the copy’s trait with this information. (1/4)

However, while this is valid for the rules as written, this is not our design intent. We will be revising these rules with July’s Vendetta Rules Update.
Why not change now? We have both RQ Sydney & the Suzhou Minor this weekend and it would be disruptive and unfair to players who have already been playing under this guidance from their local judges if we were to implement this change now. (3/4)

My and the team’s job as stewards for Riftbound is to make decisions which we believe are best for Riftbound and our community. There is no perfect solution for handling this situation, but we believe this to be the least disruptive decision for players globally.
We believe Vendetta reaching release parity for English and Chinese, along with the changes we have implemented for how our rules are developed, will help avoid a rules issue like this happening again. Thank you all for your understanding! (4/4)

1: We're discussing card bans in the near future based on overly-dominant play patterns, but none to announce today, nor an expected date for bans.
2: Expect a separate rules update on 3/30 for the new mechanics being introduced in our next Set, Unleashed, as well as a few clarities around penalties, judge rewind, edge cases, and more.
