Equal Parenting has made it to the final version of the 2026 Texas GOP Platform and will surely pass the final vote of the delegates as a platform plank once again. We are live from Houston and there is great news, Equal Parenting has knocked it out of the ballpark! I think this upcoming legislative session is when we will get the Texas Equal Parenting law passed, cause kids should have equal time with both parents as the starting point after the parents break up, as long as both parents are fit, willing, and able! Less fighting in court, and better for kids!

Last but not least, it was great talking this week with the GOAT of the Equal Parenting movement, Mayes Middleton, who has pushed the Texas Equal Parenting law and has been fighting for kids for a decade as a State Representative and State Senator. Thank you!

Almost didn’t get to run into the great up and coming State Representative Caroline Harris Davila, but as fate would have it we ran into each other in the elevator. Had a great conversation about Equal Parenting laws and I look forward to working with her and the many others legislators this next Texas Legislative session to get it passed!

Got to have some extensive conversations today about Equal Parenting legislation for the upcoming Texas legislative session including talking with state Senator Bryan Hughes, Lt Governor Dan Patrick, State Representative David Cook (soon to be state Senator), State Rep Mitch Little, state Rep Andy Hopper, and many more! Madison was asleep in my arms most of the time, and I got to meet Leyla Hughes who is just as fantastic as her husband Bryan Hughes, what a great couple! Looking forward to seeing state Senator Mayes Middleton and working with him as the next Texas Attorney General to help support equal parenting policies and principles and finally get the equal parenting bill passed in Texas that he has been so faithfully filing and advocating for in the legislature! And just ran into and talked with the great Texas Supreme Court Justice John Devine, and his wife Nubia, who is a supporter of equal parenting!

After a week of sub committee work, the main convention begins today! Let’s keep Equal Parenting a part of the Texas GOP platform and let’s make it a top 8 Legislative Priority to Protect Texas Kids! Kids are being torn apart by parents fighting in court over who gets more time. This hurts kids and hurts society. Equal Parenting laws say kids get to see both parents equally as the starting point when parents break up, as long as both parents are fit, willing, and able, as that is in the best interest of the children! Texas Republican state Representatives and state Senators please listen to the people on this important issue and get Equal Parenting passed in Texas this next session!
