Hours ago, Minister of Education Jeremy Cockrill took the unprecedented step and signed a multi-year funding agreement with the Saskatchewan School Boards Association that ensures a minimum of $356.6 million per year for four years for classroom supports.
Now that our government has made this commitment in writing, it is time for the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation to end their job action and return to the bargaining table, so that students and teachers can return to the classroom.

Two weeks from today, the new provincial budget will deliver the largest ever increase in school operating funding and a record new commitment to address classroom size and complexity.
Today, I am taking the unusual step of announcing part of the education budget prior to budget day, to clearly demonstrate our commitment to address teachers’ concerns around classroom supports.
In light of these significant new commitments, I am asking the STF to pause their job action so that teachers and students can return to their classrooms, and the teachers’ union can return to the bargaining table.

Add to it the $5B the Liberals are spending on giving monthly allowance, pay for housing, and feed asylum seekers and illegals and we are looking at what soon be $20B over the last couple years that has not been spent to support Canadians or improve our lives.

In Saskatchewan, we will not attempt the impossible when it comes to power production in our province.
We will not risk plunging our homes, schools, hospitals, special care homes and our businesses into the cold and darkness because of the ideological whims of others.
To support the ongoing power demands across western Canada, Boundary Dam 4 has been restarted to ensure families can continue to keep the heat on.
Net zero by 2035 is not only impossible, it’s irresponsible as it would leave Saskatchewan and Western Canadian families freezing and in the dark.
