Yesterday, members of both the Yonkers Police Dept and the Yonkers Fire Dept joined forces to present a check to the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Hospital. The donation was made from proceeds of the Yonkers Police/Fire Charity Hockey Game which occurred in October. Our Yonkers Police and Fire depts remain committed to giving back to the community! Someone should have to pay for the idiotic shut down of the Indian Point Nuclear Power plant in NY, which led the state’s emissions to soar.
Maybe those who pushed for it and claimed the plant’s output was going to be fully replaced by renewables.

🇺🇸 NEW YORK GOES GREEN—WITH A CLIMATE SUPERFUND
Gov. Kathy Hochul just signed a sweeping law to make Big Oil pay for climate damages in New York.
The new Climate Superfund shifts billions in costs from taxpayers to fossil fuel companies, funding projects like flood defenses and cooling systems.
State officials say these climate fixes will cost $65,000 per household by 2050—and they’re done letting polluters off the hook.
Also in the mix: A ban on fracking with carbon dioxide, closing loopholes that companies tried to exploit despite the state’s longstanding anti-fracking stance.
