Thereโs lots of talk these days of how life has become unaffordable in Canada. Unfortunately, this is the very predictable result of policies that many Canadians have been supporting, despite warnings from me and others.
There is no free lunch, we always end up paying for destructive, costly policies.
We canโt have massive government deficits financed by ultra low interest rates and cheap money printed by central banks without consequences.
We canโt close down the economy and pay people to do nothing for two years without consequences.
We canโt thwart the expansion of our energy sector and spend tens of billions on inefficient pseudo green technologies without consequences.
We canโt invite millions of foreigners to come live here without consequences.
We canโt discourage work, investment and innovation with high taxes and excessive regulation without consequences.
We canโt constantly expand the welfare state and create new costly social programs without consequences.
The reality is that life will become increasingly unaffordable in Canada as long as the majority of Canadians vote for establishment parties that buy their votes with such policies while refusing to acknowledge they cost anything.
