The @vikings just drafted a PHYSICAL FREAK in Caleb Banks out of Florida. At 6’6 330 lbs his frame is extremely hard to block. He can line up everywhere from nose tackle to wide 9 and get JIGGY with it. If healthy, he can be a game changer up front for the Vikings. #NFLDraft #RG3 #Outtapocket

$AVGO ’s Trn3.5 Project Leads to Another Wave of Market Share Erosion for AlchipAccording to our findings, Broadcom (AVGO) and AWS are set to launch a side project within the Trainium series dubbed Trn3.5, utilizing a 3nm process. As an accelerator, we expect the front-end design to be handled by Annapurna, while AVGO will take charge of the back-end design and integration services. Crucially, the motivation behind this side project is AWS's interest in testing AVGO’s Ethernet switch solutions. Regarding timeline and volume, we anticipate a project lifecycle spanning from 2H27 to 1H28, totaling 750,000 units. We categorize this as a side project based on average quarterly shipments: Trn3 (Alchip): ~300,000 units/quarter Trn3 Lite (Marvell): ~150,000 units/quarter Trn3.5 (AVGO): ~187,500 units/quarter As for ASP (Average Selling Price), we will update details closer to the tape-out date to account for potential specification changes. We believe this undoubtedly represents a loss of market share for Alchip, as its primary customer continues to diversify resources away from the main Trn3 project. Alchip Retains Mainstream Projects, but AWS Continues Side-Project Expansion In early February, our previous report noted that Alchip had already lost market share to Marvell (MRVL) regarding Trn3 integration services, totaling approximately 400,000 units in 2H26. Now, another competitor, AVGO, is officially joining the fray in 2H27 with the Trn3.5 side project. In summary, there are three projects in the 3nm generation: Trn3 (Mainline): The largest shipment volume (Alchip). Trn3 Lite (Side): 300,000 units over two quarters (MRVL). Trn3.5 (Side): 750,000 units over four quarters (AVGO). While we believe Alchip will maintain its dominant position in Trn3 and Trn4, AWS’s pivot toward competitors is certainly creating negative sentiment for Alchip’s stock price.

Please note that this post was not made in bad faith. I was skeptical (please check my previous posts) when I first saw AYZ’s post about $AVGO role in the TR supply chain. Then Morgan Stanley and Fubon Research denied the “rumors,” which initially reaffirmed my view that AYZ was wrong this time. However, an analyst from Nomura (one of the best semiconductor analysts in my view) also mentioned seeing $AVGO involvement. This made me want to dig deeper, and my contact just shared the latest developments. Of course, my contact could be wrong—it might just be a pilot run or something else (perhaps preparing for TR4).
