On Sunday, 6/14/26, as part of UFC Freedom 250, there will be short bursts of fireworks prior to each bout.
At the conclusion of the event on the South Lawn and the Ellipse of the White House, there will be a 6 minute finale near the National Mall.
On June 13th, 1930, Battalion Fire Chief Peter R. Davis, 4th Battalion acting as Deputy Fire Chief, died in the Line of Duty when a ladder broke & he fell to the ground at the Rudolf and West Hardware Store fire, 1332 NY Ave NW, 4th Alarm Box 163. Never Forget.

Single Motor Vehicle Rollover: Inbound Suitland Parkway closest to Sheridan Rd SE.
One vehicle rolled over on its roof.
three adult females transported with non-serious/non-life threatening injuries.
One adult female in critical condition transported via helicopter.
At approximately 6:45 pm, @dcfireems was dispatched for the report of a motor vehicle collision on I-295 Northbound and Eastern Avenue NE.
This incident involved two charter busses.
Six passengers were transported with non-serious/non-life threatening injuries and 3 refusals.
The District is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 7:45 PM today, June 12, with heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 MPH.
Shelter indoors in a sturdy building. Avoid wooded or treed areas, where wind may cause branches to fall.

On Saturday, 6/13/26, 9 pm, there will be a fireworks display (10 minutes), over the Potomac River in Alexandria, VA.
This is part of the Sails on the Potomac Festival & ALX Jazz Fest.
Fireworks sounds may be heard in DC.

DC Fire and EMS' Strategy & Impact Division returned to the Community impacted by the fatal fire in the 3500 Blk. of Minnesota Ave. SE through our Return to Community (RTC) initiative. The residents learned Hands on Hearts CPR and was given fire education information.

A small pup found itself in a scary situation when its paw became entrapped in an escalator at Farragut West Metro Station. Thanks to the quick response of DC Fire and EMS, the dog was safely rescued and reunited with its relieved owner.
On Thursday 6/11/26, Platoon 2 responded to 686 calls (high-volume day), including 527 EMS calls, 120 fire calls, and 39 other calls.
In total, there were 1,342 emergency vehicle responses and 288 patient transports. #DCsBRAVEST
