I hope everyone now has an optimized, client-facing LinkedIn profile. If not, here’s how
1. Go to LinkedIn, type jobs and look for your target role. Limit your search to the first 3 pages of the result & write down 3 roles that reoccur
2. Next is to search for industry-specific hard skills. We will use ChatGPT to do this but firstly copy the job descriptions, responsibilities and summaries of each of the jobs in the first three pages
Go to ChatGPT and type this prompt
“You have been hired to provide 2 hard skills that are related and highly demanded for the following job descriptions. Also provide the list of the most common keywords and rank them according to their volume”
You now have:
- 2-3 different job titles
- Industry specific hard skills
- Most common keywords
We will use all these to write our headline
There are many ways to write headline but I’ve recorded highest conversion using the following formula
Targeted role as used on LinkedIn | Targeted role | Industry specific requirements | Tell them about your availability
For instance, data analyst can use (based on the info from ChatGPT)
Data Analyst | Business Intelligence| SQL developer & Power BI expert| Solving Business Problems with Data | Seeking Opportunities
This is our first assignment for today’s class. Submit it tomorrow and we will move to
- how to edit your LinkedIn URL
- Writing an optimized Summary section
Sounds like a deal?
