Chloé Zhao has transcended reality with HAMNET. You are transported on a gut wrenching journey of love, anger and grief. Buckley unearths a raw, otherworldly performance as Agnes that is a career high! This will sit with you, as Shakespeare’s work, for lifetimes to come. #TIFF50

Just seen the first episode of #HOTD Season 3 at the World Premiere, and wow does it kick off with a bang. But for all the political drama, fire and blood, and shocking moments (the crowd all gasped twice), the show never forgets the tragedy at the centre of it all.

How lucky are we to be living in the same time when Steve Spielberg is making movies? 🥹🩷 He doesn’t get older, he only gets better. #DisclosureDay is spectacular. There’s flavours of Close Encounters, War of the Worlds, Minority Report and E.T. in here, but the original story he’s crafted with David Koepp is truly a reflection of our tumultuous times. A blockbuster that moves as well as entertains. He’s a master mixologist when it comes to genres. There’s sci-fi, action, horror, adventure, conspiracy thriller, spirituality and comedy all working harmoniously. At 79 y/o Spielberg still knows how to execute breath-taking action sequences. Essentially, it’s the most profound 2 hour chase-film you’ll ever watch. The emotional-elasticity of Emily Blunt’s performance is insane. Domingo is the sage voice of wisdom. Eve Hewson is a revelation. Josh O’Connor was sadly the weak link for me. But I was just in total awe throughout. There’s a reason Spielberg is the GOAT, when he talks, we lean in and listen. And what he’s saying here is we are in dire need of more empathy. Full review to follow tomorrow.

When I woke up his morning, wasn’t expecting to interview Gillian Anderson and Hannah Einbinder, and then watch Jane Schoenbrun’s new film. Am a very lucky boy. And yes, Teenage Sex and Death At Camp Miasma rocks.

Our team decided to curate a watchlist for Pride Month because there is still a long way to go in terms of queer representation in both the world and in art, and movies, remains a powerful way to reflect, challenge, and expand these narratives 💖 Here: wspotlight.blogspot.com/2026…

BACKROOMS had a choke hold over me! The found footage aesthetic, the production and sound design sent shivers down my spine. But it suffered with what almost all horror films do - it was not scary once you knew what was going. Still a strong directorial debut for Kane Parsons!
