@jeff_gluck @bobpockrass there has to be a better way to do this right? It’s 2025 and the technology has to be out there to take this out of the incompetent hands of race control. Ideas:
1. Use transponders to trigger caution lights INSIDE the race cars behind a wreck.

Maybe based of telemetry speed differences when a car either gets turned around/takes an impact?
2. An in car light for cautions and then if race control decides it’s bad enough to throw a FULL caution, then they can override it and trigger ALL lights around the track.

The current system has basically been in place since 2004. Racing etiquette has changed a lot in the last 20 years yet we’re still using processes from back then. More slam bam, less respectful racing will always trigger wrecks. Time to have the system adapt.
