I started this program barely knowing a thing about API testing or documentation, but look who finished with 3 solid projects in her portfolio and a fully customized API Docs (capstone project) that won first place!🤭

The VC University of Calabar is planning to expel 300 dental students after giving them an admission and many of them spending up to 6years in school.
Reason:
The university admitted more students than they are legally allowed to.
The VC told them to go and “learn trade”.

So painful that my colleagues have been in this school for 7 years now and just at the verge of finishing, they are being told that they cannot be graduated.. A whole 7 years of someone's youthful life wasted!!..

This doesn't only happen to people of calabar. It happens in almost all medical institutions. The authorities admits more students than the professional board would approve and then when it's time for them to sit for their professional exams, excuses would be made.

I've written 3MB exams, passed all.
Now in pre clinical dentistry hoping to graduate in less than 2 years only to now hear we have lost accreditation because we don't have the facilities.

This is an open call to the current Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa.
I am writing this to let you know sir that the VC of the university of Calabar has told over 300 students of dentistry to leave the university.
Some of these students are now planning to kill themselves and commit suicide.
As a responsible public servant,
And as a medical doctor yourself sir,
Please kindly intervene and save this situation.
Please do NOT allow this injustice to happen. Please help me retweet this and share it everywhere until the Minister of Education sees this and responds.

People who are familiar with the situation in university of Calabar say this is NOT the first time that the university is conducting this kind of lunatic behaviour on its students.
They abruptly cause students to withdraw from courses after many years of admission and study.
Some people say the VC is so powerful and all our noise will count for nothing as this will all be swept under the rug.
Full disclosure:
I DO NOT KNOW ANYONE IN UNICAL.
But this sort of madness only thrives when everyone of us looks away and keeps quiet because “it is not my business”.
This is our business.
An injustice to one is injustice to all of us.
300 dental students forced to leave university and drop out after many years of admission is blatant evil destruction of their lives.
We all have to speak up against this.
Please don’t let these students suffer in vain. Don’t allow these animals in their school get away with this arrant injustice.

I’m raising my voice on behalf of the dental students at the University of Calabar, who are currently facing an unimaginable situation.
Over 300 students are currently in limbo, and some of them were allegedly told to transfer to Chemistry. Despite knowing the quota for the course is 10, the institution has admitted as high as 90 students in one class. What was the plan?
Even the current final-year class who completed their BDS exams have been denied induction and separated from their MBBS counterparts who will be inducted on July 21st.
This is very unfair. The students have begged, pleaded with the authorities, letters have been written and still, nothing.
I am calling on the relevant bodies and leaders to take urgent action. Please DO NOT WASTE THEIR TIME.
