TurboTax got too greedy at the finish line. I’m jumping ship.

As someone who successfully went through said military school, the answer is 35 hours of class time and 20 hour of homework a week for a year. Good luck.

The funny thing about Duolingo and highschool Spanish, etc is that language learning is a solved problem. The military can get people conversational in a new language in like a couple months. We just mostly don't teach languages that way because fuck it I guess

If you can get as much done in a single 8 hour day as you did over the course 4 years before, you were either immeasurably terrible at your job or you have waaaay too much confidence it the code it’s producing and you’re gonna have a bad time soon. Or you’re a shill.
I’m probably > 1000x. No joke. Projects that in the past would have taken a team of 5 $300k senior / staff eng / researchers 6 months are now weekend solo projects. It’s so over.

Never do this: Passing off someone else’s work as your own. This Grok Imagine effect with the day-to-night transition was created by me — and I’m pretty sure that person knows it. To make things worse, their copy has more impressions than my original post. Not cool 👎
Community note
"Day-to-night transition" is a basic AI prompt for time-lapses, used in Runway AI (Oct 2024) & Stable Diffusion since 2023. Not proprietary—sharing isn't theft. tomsguide.com/ai/ai-image-vi…

And AWS is stifling innovation instead of helping companies get off the ground with free VPSs.

I appreciate how @PlanetScale calls out @WorkOS directly. WorkOS’s profit model is gating better security behind payment instead of making the entire web more secure.

New components. This time it’s the boring stuff. The things we rebuild over and over. Made into components. Button Group, Field, Input Group, Empty States, Item. They compose beautifully and handle the common patterns we reach for every day. Let’s take a look ⬇️

We're launching a GoFundMe to cover legal fees in the trademark fight with Oracle. We need to raise $200k to make full use of the discovery phase in the trademark cancelation petition. This is a critical step in protecting the JavaScript name for the whole community. 👉 javascript.tm/ I was going to wait a couple weeks, but this surprise Fireship video makes now a good time to announce it.
