Unpopular #GameDev opinion that you actually believe? 🤔 I'll go first: Many games LOSE value from procedural generation, if it's too big a part of the whole effort. Your turn.

Feeling bad about the #GameDev project you never finished? Don't! ❌ More likely that not, you learned a lot working on it 💡 Look at what you gained and focus on what it taught you, not what it didn't become.

I'm confident new coders relying on AI will get much further long-term if they spent at least half the time focused on learning to code instead of prompt-battling.

With that being said, AI can be a great tool for learning if you approach its answers critically and read the sources it refers to (fact check!)

I believe that AI in itself is neither good not bad. As with any tool, its about how you use it. It can be dangerous and counterproductive. It can be great and a force multiplier. You probably wouldn't put the apprentice construction worker in a bulldozer on his first day.

Second easiest #GameDev optimization? 💡 Save values that you need again later. More often than not, there is an abundance in memory, not CPU time. Cache those calculations!

Easiest GameDev optimization? Dont abuse Update(). Do question when code actually need to run and reduce frequency.

Most solo devs overbuild systems because it's more comfortable than finishing the actual game. Yes, that's definitely me too - which is why I shifted to systems instead of games... 😅

Haven't held one of these in years, time to experiment with the "new" Unity input system!
