Same text. Same hooks. Completely different results.
I cross-posted my recent piece about "Boring tech stack" on both X and Threads. The disparity is wild:
• X: 60 views (1488 followers)
• Threads: 1400 views (620 followers)
Here is my breakdown of why Meta is currently destroying X for small accounts in 2026:
The Warming Period: X puts inactive accounts in a deep algorithmic freezer. If you haven't posted consistently, your initial reach is effectively 0 unless you piggyback on big accounts via replies.
Aggressive Distribution: Threads is currently subsidizing organic reach to steal market share. Their algorithm pushes text content to non-followers aggressively to keep the feed moving.
The takeaway? If you have a small account, X is a networking platform (built via replies), while Threads is a distribution platform (built via broadcasting).
Anyone else noticed Threads outperforming X by 20x for organic reach lately?
