Meet Devin Fountain, Head of Development at NOOON. Devin leads and oversees every site we ship. He's the architect of our custom Webflow framework. Lightweight, semantic, accessible foundation that makes our sites load almost instantly. Devin was a product designer for years before he was a developer. He understands design intent at a deeper level than most engineers ever do. When he builds, he doesn't just translate Figma files into code. He sees what the design is trying to do and builds in a way that protects the intent. We've also worked together long enough that it shows. We co-founded footer.design together back when it was a side project. He's the first person I want in the room when a build gets complicated. New work for Knaq. Hardware dashboard that monitors elevators and escalators in airports, malls, and big institutions. Sensors track usage and uptime so the equipment gets serviced before it breaks down. Not a flashy tech product. Built for people who run critical infrastructure.

The new @mercury site has to be hurting new user acquisition. Videos and images are low resolution, vertical rhythm is broken, negative space is cramped, and the layouts are z-shape whiplash. The first thing you see is AI-gen and does the opposite of instill confidence.

Search is full of ads and wrong answers. Every other email is an ad. Prime Video charges you and shows ads. Paramount? Ads. Peacock? YouTube? Hulu? Ads followed by more ads. Netflix full of ads. Meta and X, every other thing is an ad. Pinterest is nothing but ads. AI is in everything. AI finishes sentences incorrectly and won’t stop. AI reads your email and search history to target you with more ads. Every time you open an app or visit a site there’s an update making it worse. In a hurry? First, click here to agree to terms you don’t have time to read and must accept. You need an account to do that. Change your temporary password. Enter your 2FA code.
