Starting a new school is difficult: we've needed to find a Headmaster, a location, necessary bootstrap funding, families with prospective students, and also...teachers.
Now try to find a classically trained teacher who is competent at math, science, AND literature, in a small city in rural east Texas. Well, I'm happy to say, by God's grace, we found one, and she graciously agreed to join our school.
Please join us in welcoming our full-time Math, Science, and Literature Teacher for the Chesterton Academy of Tyler.
Colleen Trainor received her BS in Chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Hillsdale College. In 2022, she received her MS in chemistry from Cornell University. She most recently worked at UT Tyler as an adjunct faculty member and the laboratory supervisor in the department of chemistry. Colleen is passionate about sharing her love for knowledge and contributing the Chesterton mission of providing authentically Catholic education. When she’s not working, Colleen can be found in Nacogdoches with her five siblings, on the pickleball court, at the harp, or any place where there is dancing.
Stay tuned for details on our next event: Meet the Teachers of Chesterton Academy of Tyler — we can’t wait to introduce you to the incredible faculty helping bring our mission to life!
