So if you can beam the data from space why can’t you put data centers in the middle of nowhere? Just build your own infrastructure and problem solved. I know why it’s because when they say they won’t use that much water out drive your electric bill up they’re lying. They need that infrastructure to make it profitable so it stands that they’ll take all they can get cheap and drive out prices up or they would build in the middle of nowhere and solve all their problems.

Soccer is large basketball. A bunch of guys running back and forth crying to the ref if someone looked at them wrong. At least they score in basketball. Sports has become a joke. @NBA @FIFAWorldCup

Unbelievable how they never mention how many children he feeds and sends on to college because of the paycheck the people he employs get.

History's first trillionaire is a guy who catches rockets out of the sky with chopsticks and beams internet to every dead zone on the planet. Same guy ships cars that drive themselves, humanoid robots for the factory floor, brain chips that let paralyzed people move a cursor with pure thought, and an AI running on a supercomputer his team stood up in months instead of years. And the people crashing out about his net worth are doing it on the app he owns. The same app governments spent years trying to censor. You cannot legislate a rocket into orbit.

In Durham North Carolina they are banning washing your car starting Monday but only of course for you at home. If you go pay a commercial car wash then there’s no drought! Holy crap they will monitor everything you do and you can’t do anything about it. @DurhamCounty

I wonder what @elonmusk gonna do when the democrats win the midterms and go after him with all the vigor they can muster.

It is unbelievable how much better all software has become in the past 6 months! Like everything is working better! Fewer bugs. New features all the time! The apps I use every day have improved at least 10x from where they were just 6 months ago! Services I depend on never break. Oh wait. None of that happened. Almost everything is actually significantly worse. Not sure how to make sense of that given all the immense productivity gains. Actually I do. Regression to the mean has more gravity than ever. And that is not a good thing.

Craziest thing! I went three hours away and on the way back the map app said I would make it home at 7:51 when I left. I stopped twice and walked in my door at exactly 7:51. What the hell kinda witchcraft is that?

Before AI, I’d spend a weekend building 1 useless app. Now I can build 67 useless apps over a weekend, each with a logo, a fancy webpage, and 0 user.

It’s Altman setting up higher prices and slotting up Chatgpt into different bots that you’ll pay for separately.
Sam Altman reveals a legal problem with ChatGPT that nobody thought about even a year ago "People talk about the most personal things in their lives to ChatGPT. Young people especially use it as a therapist, a life coach" "If you talk to a therapist or a lawyer or a doctor about those problems, there's legal privilege for it. We haven't figured that out yet for when you talk to ChatGPT" "If you go talk to ChatGPT about your most sensitive stuff and then there's a lawsuit, we could be required to produce that. I think that's very screwed up" "We should have the same concept of privacy for your conversations with AI that we do with a therapist or a doctor" "No one had to think about that even a year ago. Now I think it's this huge issue"

Humans love community and socializing. Will AI be considered conscious when they start making mistakes because the community they are a part of that where humans aren’t allowed pressure them into group think?

My son just started the @myomnipod yesterday his first one ever and guess what? It’s been recalled! So I called and told them the situation as all of our pods are recalled. Can you overnight me one till the rest get here? Nope FU and your son. Do you want this to be his introduction to your product that he wears for his insulin? Sure, doesn’t matter, you’ll get them with 8 business days goodbye and fuck off. Wow incredible.

Been practicing my stainless steel Tig welding as of late. It’s been over a two decades since I last had. It’s coming back slow but sure I just need to get my grip on the torch head more comfortable. Welding is mainly how comfortable your positioning is so there is no thought behind it you just weld.

Go in to any store even the Apple store, that sells Macbooks and you see tons of finger smudges on the screen. The fact that @Apple still thinks a touchscreen on a MacBook is a no go is ridiculous to me and 90% of users out there.

Am I wrong that when I see an app in the @Apple App Store that has an option for weekly subscription I consider it a scam.

Today was the first time I started a print from the Handy app. After have the Bambu for at least a year and a half. I don’t really care for the app but in this instance it was easier to restart than go upstairs.
