I think €12m per year is a good deal for both Konrad Laimer and Bayern Munich. His versatility is valuable and with Nathaniel Brown transfer nearly complete, Bayern Munich have a relatively robust wingback group including Davies and Stanisic.
Konrad Laimer currently earns around €9m gross per year at FC Bayern. With the new deal, his salary could rise up to €12m/year. Following months of negotiations, an agreement is now close [@kessler_philipp]

The best part about this World Cup is the traveling fans from all across the world realizing that American's aren't fat because they are lazy... they are just fat because the food is just too good.

Spain drew 0-0 vs. Cabo Verde 🤣 no big game players, apparently.

The same ones who criticized Bayern Munich's signing of Luis Diaz are the same ones criticizing the signing of Ismael Saibari... who by the way, Vincent Kompany personally wanted.

Luis Diaz is going to be a baller and quickly become a fan favorite here at Bayern and record 25 G A across all competitions. I've been a fan of this transfer (though not the price--slightly overpaid) but truly think Diaz will be successful.

Transfers should be judged on one thing and one thing alone... Impact. You can't judge a transfer before the player has ever put on the jersey or played a single minute for the club. Judge them at the end of their contract and/or are sold before the end of it. Bayern Munich have arguably the most stable finances in the world. Everyone has limited finances but Bayern Munich rarely have overpayed for a player that they were convinced of.

My reservations about Diaz still persist. I thought he was too expensive (irrespective of the market) for Bayern considering our limited finances. Same thing with Saibari.

The world would be a much better place if we assumed innocent intentions rather than nefarious intentions.
FIFA is seeking an explanation over a hand gesture made by video assistant referee Shaun Evans before Germany's 7-1 win over Curaçao When the camera cut to the VAR room on Sunday, Evans was standing with his arm by his side - and then could be seen making the fingers of his right hand into an upside down 'OK' sign. Such a gesture has two very distinct meanings – one harmless and the other connected to an expression of white supremacy. The incident was immediately subject to a huge amount of speculation on social media. @BBCSport has approached Fifa multiple times for comment or some clarity but as yet there has been no official response. However, BBC Sport has been told by sources that Fifa is looking for answers from the Australian VAR official.

Full time thoughts for Germany vs. Curaço Curaço deserve to be at this World Cup... such an incredible story! And they gave up the same number of goals as Brazil in 2014! It was always going to be a tough game for them but they got a goal too. Germany played well but that was expected. Lots of room for improvement so don't get carried away... the gap is just too big. Kimmich, Undav, Brown and Havertz played very well. Musiala, Wirtz, Tah, Pavlovic and Schlotterbeck played decent. My only criticism would be Sane... Germany simply can't continue with him at RW. I would like to see Undav as a CAM and Musiala at RW where we played in the Euros. Great start for Germany in the 2026 World Cup!

Well yeah, that's because he's playing with half of Bayern's starting players.

Reason 1001 Slot had to go, Wirtz looked good every time he put a Germany shirt on

Awkward. But I guess after going trophyless, there's nothing else to celebrate.
Florian Wirtz is actually LEVELS above Jamal Musiala😬 #FIFAWorldCup I can see why Bayern was so desperate to get Wirtz….

Fabrizio swooping in hours later to say "I promise Perez was going to try for Olise" is lazy journalism. Uli Hoeneß, Herbert Hainer, Karl-Heinz Rumminegge and Max Eberl have all come out publicly throughout the year saying Michael Olise wasn't for sale. That stance hasn't changed.
- @FabrizioRomano: 'I can absolutely guarantee that the intention of Florentino Pérez was to try for Michael Olise. It was also confirmed by people at Real Madrid. But Bayern completely closed the door in private and in public and didn't want to enter any sort of negotiations. Then Real Madrid started assessing other options and decided to go for Julian Alvarez'

He thought he did something here... In reality, the only thing he did was not including Real Madrid as a "big team" 😅

Interesting. I actually appreciate Ngumoha and think he'd do well. Whole story is fishy though.
🚨🧨 EXCLUSIVE DETAILS | Rio Ngumoha was the secret candidate FC Bayern had been negotiating with for weeks. Bayern had reached a full verbal agreement with Ngumoha and his camp on Tuesday, 26 May. #LFC ⚠️ Absolute priority as a backup to Luis Díaz alongside the pursuit of Anthony Gordon. However, the deal collapsed yesterday, Thursday, for the time being. It remains to be seen whether club-to-club agreements can be reached for Brown/Saibari. Vincent Kompany approved the Ngumoha deal after personal talks with the 17 y/o Liverpool gem. @SkySportDE 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇳🇬

Real Madrid are poking a bear that they might not want to poke. If Uli Hoeneß views Florentino Perez's statement as insulting, he will defend Bayern Munich. And Uli Hoeneß is the type of person who will risk losing a player on a free transfer in 2029 to prove a point if he feels that the club's reputation would be damaged. A friendly reminder that Bayern Munich had the third highest revenue in the world last year, has zero debt, and is the ONLY club to have made a profit for the last 30 years. Uli Hoeneß already hit yhe nail on the head when he said “Michael Olise will NOT be sold, not even for €200m. We play this game for our fans. We have 430,000 members, we have many millions of fans around the world, and it does them little good if we have 200 million more in the bank and play worse football every Saturday because of that."

Ismael Saibari is an interesting choice for Bayern Munich but it makes sense if you think about it. The profile of the player is in line with what Bayern have reportedly been interested in. High-pressing, high-intensity, and decent in all attacking phases. Gordon also fit that role but from Bayern's perspective, €80m transfer fee €15m-€18m per year reportedly was way too much (which is what Barcelona offered).

Arsenal, with the most delusional fanbase and haramball style, lost to PSG, the club built and backed by the Qatari government who has given the club nearly €1 billion to cover loses. Both terrible in their own way...But the better squad won.

I can only congratulate the people at Newcastle United for finding – let me use quotation marks here – ‘an idiot’ who paid that much money, because we certainly wouldn’t have done that in Munich.

I always get a good laugh when Liverpool fans talk about Bayern Munich getting humbled. Especially since they finished 5th in the Premier League after spending €450m last summer 🤣
I love seeing this fossil humbled. Got embarrassed by Liverpool last summer and is getting embarrassed by Barcelona this summer.
