@DHSBoys A big thank you to Beverley, Joanna, Jenny, Audrey and Isa for providing the refreshments at the DHSB Christmas Concert. Our urn warming the mulled wine suddenly stopped warming the mulled wine! Luckily a replacement urn was sourced! Crisis averted and calm restored 😄

@DHSBoys On this day in 1942, whilst the school was evacuated to Penzance, there was a terrible incident in which headmaster Mr Buckley feared the worst after six boys were in a shelter which took a direct hit from the Germans.

@dhsb 80 years ago today, pupils returned home to Plymouth on a ‘special train’ for DHSB, Stoke Damerel High School for Girls, Plymouth High School for Girls and Sutton High School for Boys. They were evacuated May 1941. Read Tony Cross’ memories here:
