ALT Here’s what you need to know about the Canada Dental Program for children under 12. Access to basic dental care will help children live healthier, pain-free lives.

ALT Tooth decay is the most common chronic (and preventable) childhood disease IN THE WORLD. Next year the program is expected to include those under 18, seniors, and people living with a disability. By 2025, it will be available, to all Canadian families with incomes of less than $90,000 annually, with no co-pays for anyone earning less than $70,000 annually.

ALT The Canada Dental Benefit reimburses parents and caregivers of eligible children up to $650 per child, per year for 2 years. You must apply for the benefit at Canada.ca/my-cra-account, pay for care up front and then get reimbursed (within 5 business days with direct deposit). <$70,000 family income= $650, between $70,000 and $79.999= $390, between $80,000 and $89,999= $260. The benefit can be used for any dental care provided by a regulated dental professional. This includes services provided by dental hygienists OUTSIDE OF A TRADITIONAL DENTAL SETTING.
