@diagnostics_ag Toto trial area. Was too wet right into Dec šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøsown at 1 kg. Will be great for #brassica crops on WD dairys (weed burden is ā¬†ļøand chem is limited) The rape option will be ideal reno option for onion grass control when crop carried through on undeveloped sites

A rare 2022 spring sowing #agronomy win on a clients well drained and prepared site. Old pasture > brassica > spring sown Phalaris/clovers. A collaboration job for ⁦@PhilWhitp4⁩ & ⁦@cameronmorris⁩

Clients Autumn sown rape out of old pasture which will be followed by spring sown pasture. Gives three opportunities for grass weed control in 12 months and no winter hole in feed supply during the development programme #agronomy #ausag

Arrowleaf and balansa clover doing the business on a forestry reversion block. Leave plenty of N in the system for microbial breakdown of the woody debris, seed bank and opportunities taken for grass weed control. Legumes 1st - grasses come next year #agronomy

20 kgDM/ha/day @ ā€˜Avalon’, Heywood for last week. Good ground conditions (read it’s dry) mean rotation is more aggressive than normal @ 35 days. The blue line is elusive even with lenient expectations! APC is a subdued 1535 kgDM/ha usual end June target around 2500-2700 !

I’ll call that a win for mid-winter carry-over rape. Will be a bit of chewing to spell pastures #agronomy #ausag

Winter has begun with šŸ’¦but 🄶 hence a slow 24 kgDM/ha/day growth rate at Heywood and 16 kgDM/ha/day at Hawkesdale. I’m calling and average of 20 kgDM/ha/day on well fertilised responsive sites in last week. Spring calving šŸ„ dried off 3 weeks early at Avalon to lower demand.

Heywood growth rate 34 kgDM/ha/day (2 sites) Avalon dairy APC increases 157 kgDM/ha/week with large substitution effect. Hawkesdale 33kgDM/ha/day other sites online in coming weeks #grasstomilk

Well we have a start… the blue line looks ambitious at this point (pre-grazing pasture mass unrealistic due to extremely slow round) but managed to grow around 20 kgDM/ha/day last week. Numbers still a little ā€œsoftā€ in reliability as gaps begin to fill in #Dairy #grasstomilk

Avalon dairy Heywood - Picture tells the story… first pasture measurement for 2022 and a mile behind. Very dry on the coastal strip. Hopefully a growth rate to measure next week #ausdairy cows in containment
