One summer, almost 25 years ago, a friend & I spent our holiday tramping round the Worcestershire/Herefordshire/Gloucestershire borders. We slept in church porches, under hedges, & in haystacks. We washed in public loos or used the occasional pub or pump.

Spent yesterday teaching life writing in a prison and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had as a writer. I also learned that the only way to keep me from constantly checking my phone is to have a security guard place it in a locker behind a series of iron gates.
