By the way, I have pointed this out before and I think it caused Craig to prompt his LLM for a solution, bc he came out with this paper afterwards.
The solution? Merchants should run a Bitcoin Core full node to check whether the inputs have been spent!

Joel has blocked me, but I would like to point these out to him. Craig's understanding of SPV seems to fly in the face of what Satoshi told Mike Hearn, and basic understanding. Even BRC writers inspired by Craig's view seem to have understood its implications better than Craig.
