I noticed that when I’m tired and I switch language (I’m not native English), my mind starts mixing up words. Like putting an English word or tuple in the middle of an Italian phrase. Or viceversa. I wonder if it is random or it has to do with how different languages offer different possibilities to expression

Here in Monaco they say “Servus” instead of “hello”. Servus clearly comes from Latin. It sounds something like “I’m at your service”. In Italian we use “ciao”. Today I found out it comes from the Venetian “s’ciavo”, which meant “slave”. So every time we say “ciao”, we are kinda saying “I’m your slave/at your service”

This is Dictato's first stable release. It turns dictation into clean, finished text, and lets Dictato adapt to whatever app you're working in. Everything still runs fully on your Mac. What's new - PROFILES. Set per-app rules so Dictato adapts to where you type. Each profile can use a different transcription engine, rewrite tone, or translation, and Dictato switches automatically when you change app. You can also match by the website open in your browser and give each profile its own name. - TONES. Dictato can now rewrite your dictation in a chosen tone, fully on your Mac. Built-in tones cover email, social, concise, and more, and you can write your own with help from a built-in prompt assistant. Set a default tone, or pick one for a single dictation right from the recording bar. - PROOFREAD. A new on-device proofread pass adds punctuation, capitalization, and paragraph breaks to longer dictations, so the text comes out clean without manual editing. - Smarter numbers. Dictation now writes numbers the way you'd expect, turning "twenty five" into "25" and handling dates, times, and amounts on its own. - New recording bar. The floating indicator is now an integrated bar. It shows when Dictato is warming up or correcting, which profile is active, and gives quick access to tones and to leaving a review. (Not all styles have been reworked, this will be done in the next updates) - Better in noisy rooms. Transcription handles background noise more reliably, and a resident fallback keeps it instant even right after Dictato has been idle. - Lighter on memory. Dictato unloads its models when idle and reloads them the moment you start recording, and frees memory when your Mac is under pressure. - Lifetime updates. Dictato is a one-time purchase, and every future update is included for life. - Preview is now visible when text fail to be inserted in an input field. Fixes - The dictation shortcut now works even when Dictato itself is the active app. - Localized non-speech tags such as [Music] are correctly removed from transcripts. - Overlapping trial checks no longer collide. - Duplicate words written with a hyphen are now cleaned up correctly.
