Wish @expo router data loaders were available for native routing. Feels like a pattern that could work in tandem with a loading component or useLoaderState hook

How are folks fetching data in their React Native apps these days? I’ve been using TanStack Query GQL for a while. It’s worked but it’s been feeling a bit awkward as of late and I’m looking for new ideas! #reactnative #graphql

Sincere question: why are #reactnative versions pinned to specific minor/patch versions of React? I.e. RN 81 checks for React 19.1.0. Trying to use React 19.2.0 results in version mismatch errors 🤔

Feeling the pain of this one - there’s not (yet) a new version of #reactnative to upgrade to 😭

There is critical vulnerability in React Server Components disclosed as CVE-2025-55182 that impacts React 19 and frameworks that use it. A fix has been published in React versions 19.0.1, 19.1.2, and 19.2.1. We recommend upgrading immediately. react.dev/blog/2025/12/03/cr…

Okay updating our app to support #android 16KB page size was definitely not something we should’ve waited on 😅 We’re stuck on RN 77/Expo 52/React 18 for the moment, so getting things working was interesting!

Good news: most stuff works. A few items broken on a 16KB image, which should be okay until we get on RN 81/Expo 54/React 19

Has anyone incrementally adopted @expo router in a project using vanilla React Navigation? If so, would love to hear how you did it/any gotchas. Ideally we’d be able to create new screens/navigator stacks using expo router, and incrementally move the existing screens #reactnative

Has Google Play #Android app review been taking longer these days? We’ve been averaging ~2 days for approval, used to be a few hours 🤔

So are iOS 18.4 simulators still borked due to developer.apple.com/forums/t…? I think this is biting some of our devs - guess I need to tell everyone to get on 18.3 🙃

Any #reactnative devs run Maestro E2E tests on their own build machines? If so, I'm curious how you automated launching simulators, installing the app, etc. Since we moved to Xcode 16/iOS 18 our Detox tests have been flakey so we're investigating a move to Maestro 🤔

"Why not use Maestro Cloud?" We'd love to, and want to long term, but: A) our app is almost entirely post-login, so there's a lot of challenges with running outside of corporate network B) our company already invested in speedy Mac build machines so might as well use them 😎

This is the worst part of JS/TS in VSCode. The unreliability of it is maddening. Will auto complete work? Will CMD click work? Feels completely random
How many times have YOU reset your TS server in the last twenty four hours?

The discourse around Suspense and fetch-on-render/render-as-you-fetch has me wondering: Is render-as-you-✍️fetch possible in #reactnative? I don't think @reactnavigation/@expo Router (yet) support "render as you fetch" - so it seems "fetch on render" is the only option in RN?

I wish more SaaS #reactnative SDKs were “JavaScript first” instead of wrappers around their native SDKs. JS based SDKs would be lighter weight and provide more opportunity for code sharing with web. I suppose I should be happy if they ship a RN SDK at all 😅

This would be tough to build in #reactnative I’d think. Skia or SVGs seem like the best approach?
It’s getting there! All shadows, elements, everything is rendered in code 👍 Should I do a code walk through? It’s extremely elementary stuff.. but would anyone care to see how I’m building it?
