EXCLUSIVE: "Oil Mafia Blocked Us for Five Years" β Dangote Reveals Hidden Battles, Building Private Port to Beat Saboteurs
Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has opened up about the fierce resistance his refinery faced from powerful oil mafia elements, revealing that everything was blocked for five years, starting from the launch in 2013.
Speaking on the challenges, Dangote disclosed that no port in Nigeria could handle the heavy equipment required for the project, forcing his team to build a private port, a harbour, roads, and a massive water system with a 440 million-litre capacity.
"Our water facility alone covers more than 30 hectares," he added.
