everyone has a backstory behind what pushed them to create. creating in this sense could be a product, tool, or even a video. mine started with epileptic power supply and an empty wallet - but it was soon to be an issue of the past. i found a $1200 video bounty on @earnfirstdollar by @zerion, entered for the first time despite my low follower count - and won. here's all you need to know.

every time i see news on fuel price hike, i always remember an interaction i had with this man while working as a fuel pump attendant back in 2022. one beautiful afternoon, he came rolling his bike to my fuel station as he was low on gas. he got to my pump, looked at the cost of a litre and his countenance changed. back then, fuel was at 200N/litre but we were selling for 220N/litre. he got angry and rolled away his bike because of the additional 20N and said we were chasing too much profit. i understood him though. every time i remember this interaction, i wonder how he's faring now - with the cost of fuel at over x6 of the price back then. this country is failing.

the new video reaction feature is literally the "article season" reimagined. you are going to see it all over your tl for the next few days or weeks then everybody goes back to quoting or retweeting.

90% of friend and message requests you receive on discord are from scammers disguising as support agents.

sorry about this man. nothing hurts more than working hard for something only for it to end this way. not a paid shill or whatever but you should check out @earnfirstdollar rewards are always distributed to winners immediately they are announced. i got my 500 USDC instantly for this: x.com/directbrah/status/2031…

over 3 months ago, i was announced as the 1st place winner of the @fairscalexyz bounty on @superteamearn with a reward of 750 usdc. since then, i’ve emailed support multiple times, submitted the requested information, followed every instruction given, and been told more than once that payment would be processed. yet here we are. what’s frustrating is that i’ve done everything expected of me as a contributor, but getting paid for work that was already judged, awarded, and publicly announced has somehow turned into a months-long waiting game. if i had missed deadlines, failed to submit my work, or ignored messages, i’d understand. but that’s not what happened here. how long is a winner supposed to keep chasing a reward that was already awarded to them? @superteamearn i’d appreciate an actual resolution instead of another promise that goes nowhere.

I have burnt a lot of funds purchasing phones. The first phone I used was a Tecno Y2. A friend of my mom dashed it to me after a lot of pestering. I remember the night the phone got spoiled - it won't charge and was just going on and off automatically, I cried. I was phoneless for a long time until it was my final year in secondary school. I decided that I was going to get one. I did a lot of manual labor (visited construction sites, worked in people's farms, amongst other menial jobs) to come up with N15,0000 to get a used phone from a friend. It was an Itel A36. Finally, I had my phone and I was happy. It served me long until a friend gave me an iPhone 6. so, I decided to give the Itel phone to my brother as it made no sense having two phones while he had none. It was my first year in Uni so I was doing a lot of night reading in school and during one of my night reading sessions, the iPhone fell off of the table and it was gone. I was sad once again as I had no money to get a new one. The same friend who gave me the iPhone came to my rescue again. This time, he gave me an S8 which got lost during the crossover to 2024 while coming back from the church and shooting bangers on the street. A minute ago it was right there in my pocket and the next minute, it wasn't. As of then, I was already introduced to the web3 space so i got an infinix hot 7 plus or so, the next day. This served me very well until I got a Note 20 Ultra. Half a million naira on a phone. It was quite a huge feeling because the previous year I was struggling to come up with N15,000 for one. Again, I was happy - but not for too long. Out of curiosity, which of course killed the cat, and needed to prove to my friends that the device was high end, I decided to test its water resistance and it ended badly for me. Part of the screen stopped responding...

My friend I went to play with saw me laughing and asked me why I was laughing and I showed him the phone. The display was gone. Everywhere, green and eventually, all blank. My friend asked why I was laughing and I replied, "what to do?" Life was way “too beautiful”, still is, so i couldn't get the phone repaired until a month later. I had to fall back to the Note20 ultra and as of this time, the screen was completely gone. I was able to find a workaround. I ran a script that mirrored my screen to my pc and also made use of the Samsung bixby. Finally got the 15PM repaired and the first post I made on my status was "hey bixby, turn on iPhone." only those around me during the course of that 1 month got the context and we all laughed over how terrible it was. Well, you did think that was the end but life was not done messing with me. Just like many other persons, I love listening to music while having my bath and was doing so one beautiful morning when I noticed the phone lying upwards on the toilet tank. In a bid to prevent water from splashing on it, I quickly flipped it, with little foam in my hand. If I had known that 0.5s of making contact with the phone, using a soapy hand, would have damaged it again, I would have left it or something, but I never knew. I finished up with my bathing and the screen developed a fault again. It was just a month and 2 days of repairing it. I was devastated and had to fall back to the Note20 Ultra (my fallen hero). Two days later, the screen came up again but with lines this time. I laughed over it and labeled it “the chart is going up, we are in profit” in one of my status updates on WhatsApp. I knew it wasn't going to serve me for too long but I was happy, still. After a few weeks, ink started spreading on the screen and here we are now.

To top it all off, I lost my only job in addition to the one I had lost earlier-on in mid 2025 (my highest paying job, project wrapped up). They were my means of livelihood from my second year in school until this final year. I took care of everything, from school fees to house rent and down to feeding. Now, I have nothing left. It's been a crazy year and I am not one to usually share such stories on X but I needed a place to vent out. Regardless, God has been faithful to me and I do not appreciate him enough. He has brought me this far and will definitely see me through. I have learnt a lot of lessons within the past year that I wouldn't have learnt if I haven't experienced it and like the popular quote would say, "as far as there is life, there is hope." However, hope is not a strategy. so, I am also putting this out here to also say: if you are looking to hire a well experienced community moderator with good communications skills (i believe this tweet/thread should have shown you that) or a customer support specialist, I am that guy. I am your guy! here is a link to my portfolio: damianthemod.framer.website Thank you for paying attention to my crashout.
