A taxi driver found Manuel Neuer's wallet in the back of his cab after a fare in Munich. Inside was €800 in cash and two credit cards. Hazir, a father of four, drove 120 kilometres to return it to Neuer's manager in person. Two weeks later, a box arrived at his door. Inside was a signed Bayern Munich shirt. No cash. No thank-you note. "This finder's fee is a mockery. I have four children. I can't do anything with the jersey," he told Sky Germany. The story got out and Neuer was made to look very bad indeed. Then Lothar Matthaus stepped in, bought the jersey from Hazir for €1,000, and put it up for a charity auction. "I liked Lothar as a player," Hazir said afterwards. "But now he is my hero." Neuer said nothing.
