Red sprites from last night. Last night was crazy. I captured over 60 individual sprite events. Captured from southern Minnesota looking toward the storm over Missouri / Illinois.

claude taught me a new word today. anacoluthon! maybe the first time this has happened incidentally (as opposed to some structured learning or creative process)

I just like the idea of something clearly artificial casting giant shadows onto a gas giant world
Would a megastructure cast megashadows? Probably not, it might just show up as regular dimmings of the star, but why let reality ruin a good story. No AI in my stuff. I dont get commecial work anymore if youd like to support my stuff heres my Patreon patreon.com/AlexDuneBrady

is your child texting fable 5? BRB = Basic Research Biology SMH = Studying Membrane Homeostasis GPT = Generating Possibly Training-data SOTA = Suspiciously Open-Source Training Attempt if you see these messages do not panic. your child has already been safely routed to opus 4.8

A day in Manhattan, warped so that distance ≈ drive time. Drive times swell in the morning and evening rush hour, then contract in the night.

Participants will work through a combined tutorial on probes and programming in Hazel, and then complete writing and debugging tasks; 2 hours total. Due to time constraints basic functional programming experience is required. Interest form here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…

interesting how often sorting (cinderella) and searching(theseus, hansel and gretel), two of the most basic operations in computation, show up as the impossible task for the protagonist in fairy tales and myth. there seems to be this consistent fantasy for automation/better computation: the helper that sorts/searches fast so you don't have to.
