Your real test as a DJ is not being the headliner but as an opener.
It is one of the best sets tbh, your power to turn an empty dancefloor into a packed venue.
You literally set the tone for every other set including the headliner. Also there is freedom as an opener, you can play whatever you like.

re opening dj discourse: i think we just like to make things more complex than they are.
everyone knows why djs don’t like opening. there’s barely anyone in there at that time and sometimes it feels like the organisers use you as background music to finish stage design 🙂↔️
