Patients with a COPD flare and blood eosinophils of >300 cells/µl in the prior year received mepolizumab or placebo for 48 weeks, plus exacerbation treatment. The median time to hospitalization or death due to any cause was similar in both groups. eviden.cc/42YLiQt

If someone feels faint & goes hypoxic over a few mins after being in bed for a week with MSK pain, stop “thinking sepsis” b/c what actually ails the patient is NOT going to be fixed by the Sepsis Six. The #availabilitybias of sepsis is wrecking synthesis of differential diagnoses

A case everyone needs to know:
A man admitted for CHF exacerbation is normoxic on ambient air. POCUS shows bilateral pleural effusions.
He develops Afib w/ RVR (HR 150s). A med is given. Suddenly he develops hypoxemia (SpO2 84% on NC, 94% on NRB).
