Congratulation to @TataMemorial on this great study. Upfront brain RT reduces icPFS it done not impact PFS/OS. Potentially more radionecrosis with higher V12 in upfront RT. need data confined to 3/4th gen TKI and a SRS only approach. I’ve always wondered if LM rates differ.
Glad to see an overwhelming response to the CME on "Patient Navigation Intervention in Oncology Care" organised by @HBCHRC_Punjab in collaboration with TMC-KEVAT. More than 200 participants frm healthcare, academia and allied fields joined an important discussion on strengthening
holistic cancer care.
Patient navigation is emerging as a vital pillar in oncology - helping patients and caregivers navigate complex treatment pathways with empathy, coordination and continuity of care.
I remain deeply inspired by the vision and guidance of my mentor
Dr. R.A. Badwe, whose insights continue to shape our approach towards patient-centric cancer care.
At @HBCHRC_Punjab, we remain committed to ensuring that cancer treatment goes beyond medical intervention and truly supports patients at every step - from diagnosis to recovery.
@HBCHRC_Punjab, in collaboration with TMC-KEVAT, successfully organised the CME on "Patient Navigation Intervention in Oncology Care" under the theme "From Diagnosis to Recovery: The Power of Patient Navigation in Oncology Care." The event witnessed an overwhelming response with
over 200 participants from healthcare, academia and allied fields joining discussions on the evolving role of patient navigation in cancer care.
Patient navigators play a crucial role in coordinating care with clinical teams, helping patients navigate complex healthcare systems,
reducing barriers to treatment, and ensuring better compliance and outcomes.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. RA Badwe, former Director, @TataMemorialCtr, emphasized the emotional and logistical challenges faced by patients and said, "A patient entering a cancer hospital steps into
an unfamiliar world at one of the most difficult moments of life. After diagnosis, navigating multiple doctors, investigations, appointments and treatments can become overwhelming. For a person already dealing with shock and uncertainty, this journey can feel almost impossible.
Patient navigation is that support system which guides, facilitates and helps patients continue their treatment journey."
@docgulia, Director, @HBCHRC_Punjab, said, "Cancer treatment is not just surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. Holistic care means ensuring that patients and
caregivers receive support at every step. Patient navigators become a bridge between expert doctors and patients, reducing burden on caregivers and clinical teams as we ensure that care is delivered in the most empathetic and supportive manner. This is also an emerging field with
immense opportunities for young professionals in healthcare."
"Recognising the growing need of patient navigation, @HBCHRC_Punjab is set to commence the Master of Science (MSc.) in Patient Navigation in Oncology Care from August 1, 2026, with applications opening in May 2026. The
programme aims to create a trained workforce equipped with foundation knowledge of medical and cancer terminology, cancer treatment protocols, supportive care options, health system operations and evidence-based practices related to cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and
