Before we want to rush to referring ELs to receive special education evaluation, we have to take a critical look at OUR instructional practices! @docjebrownamzn.to/2WWqUiE#ellchat_bkclub#esl
I was just informed I have received a promotion to the highest rank as a full professor!!! Currently only 1% of full professors in country are Latina. This needs to change!!! Hoping to see many more former students finishing up theirs doctorates too 🥰
This day is happening because PPS set the stage. We appreciate our educators playing a leadership role in advocating for our children’s future. Si se puede. Salem - are u watching??
At the migrant@parent meeting at Rigler School. How wonderful to have a bilingual superintendent that can engage with a community who sometimes feels ignored. Shout out to Kathy Gaitan and her team for their great event. We clearly heard the work we need to do!
Please do not forget: There are still thousands of kids locked up in child prisons. They're afraid. They're vulnerable. They want to be with their families. Speak out for them. They need your voice. Now, more than ever.
THANK YOU @Super_GGuerrero for your passionate and heartfelt defense of the students and families in the @PPSConnect. I stand with you. We stand with you.

Great day presenting to educators from New York State on that age old questions - how to differentiate language differences from disabilities. Very important here since in NYC 25% of all English learners are in special education - they are over identified.
