100% detection and quantification of SARS-CoV-2 with PBM-HALE, in 1 minute of exhaled breath, requires forced expiration and gives Ct's as low as 25.8. We have updated our preprint with the interim data from our Brazil study 1/n x.com/PulmoBioMed/status/156…
Our Pre-print on exhaled breath detection of COVID-19 and bacteria from your lung. TL;DR summary: you do not emit any virus if you are infected, have symptoms, and are breathing in a relaxed fashion. This DOES NOT mean COVID-19 isn’t airborne 1/n medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

We've uploaded a pre-print focused on our 2 clinical studies with PBM-Hale on noninavsive sampling the lower-lung without saliva contamination for pathogen detection. This is an update to the 2022 preprint with the whole development story of PBM-Hale. 1/x researchsquare.com/article/r…

Main limitations: these were observational small-sized studies looking at percent positive agreement to nasopharyngeal swab positivity. The n number is small, & false negative rate within each study was not determined. 16/x

Cytokine data was also obtained in the second study, but normalisation factors and assay optimisation are required for better interpretation. Correlation work with tidal samples also requires longer sampling 17/x

Beautiful work elegantly summarised on its importance in allergy and immunity.
🔥 Researchers have discovered a hidden talent of mast cells: they can capture and use another type of immune cell called neutrophils. This surprising discovery sheds new light on how our immune system works, particularly during allergic reactions. 1/
