Premenopausal women with ACS are often labeled “low risk.” The reality: rising MI rates, more delays and misdiagnoses, and worse outcomes vs men. ACS in younger women is different and needs tailored care, earlier recognition, and equity in treatment. ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…

Is SCAD genetic?" It is the single most common question I get from patients in clinic. For years, the answer was a frustrating "maybe." But we are finally moving from "bad luck" to biological mechanisms. Let's talk about the ADAMTSL4 connection and arterial fragility. 🧬🫀 #SCAD

In another analysis, we found a significant burden of rare variants in FMD-associated genes (e.g., F11R, TLN1) in SCAD patients compared to controls. Key takeaway: SCAD is rarely "monogenic" but heavily influenced by a cumulative burden of rare variants. google.com/search?q=jamanetw…

To date there has been no attempt to develop integrated management pathways for the diagnosis and management of premenopausal women presenting with ACS. This statement discusses key considerations for invasive angiography, revascularization, and related procedures such as arterial access, intravascular imaging, left ventricular angiography, invasive physiology, and provocative testing. ✍🏼 @docsaw @EstherSHKimMD @JohnBlakeman_RN @hollandtamis @MonSangh @MirvatAlasnag 📷 Diagnosis and management of ACS in premenopausal women.
