Check out my boy Vinny! Vinny is an actor from the Chicagoland area with Down syndrome. After a bunch of casting sessions with various special needs theater groups around the state, we ended up finding Vinny via a random Craigslist post. People say you’re supposed to start production with an easy scene, but instead we threw Vinny into one of his hardest scenes on the very first day of shooting our feature $POSITIONS. He killed it. It’s still one of my favorite moments from him in the whole film, and it was a huge boost for me and the crew to start production this way. Honestly made me want to start every indie shoot this way. We love Vinny!!!
