If "The limits of my language are the limits of my world"
were true we would have no music, art, dance; no sensuous, ineffable experiences that are purely physical let alone powerfully emotional or transcendental. Wittgenstein may have been speaking of his own repressed personality / perspective; or he may have been speaking speculatively. but his (famous/rarely questioned) statement per se is not demonstrable & not true.

very cool this app is constantly exposing me to dorks like this now. social media managers with handles like "artemis consort" who are obsessed with epistemology but do not understand, say, the distinction between knowledge and belief

When you’ve spent 20 years obsessing over epistemology and learning physics, it can be jarring to realize that most people don’t have beliefs at all, in a rigorous sense. They just have emotional reactions to sentences.

Update: as of 9:30 am this Tuesday Astoria the Wild Turkey had flown off from another encounter with NYPD while she was foraging in a small park in East Midtown. She seems to be fine and needs no rescue. Please give her space let her forage.
