I remember when Windows Vista came out. The bubble screensaver was just mesmerizing. It looked so futuristic and was my favorite Windows version. I don't think any Windows version after has been able to top that visual aesthetic.
Which version best represents your childhood?

HN is having the "git rebase" discourse again. I liked this comment a lot

What if we had server actions without a compile step? stackblitz.com/edit/prim-rpc…
it’s taking a lot of self-control to not add a framework-less variation of server actions to bun

I've recreated the Prim RPC documentation website with @astrodotbuild 🚀 It's much snappier now (and the documentation itself is now much easier to follow). I'm excited to finally make it go live 🙂 prim.doseofted.me/

It's using DaisyUI across the site, Pts.js with Framer Motion for effects, and Astro's MDX/Content Collections with Rehype Pretty Code for the documentation itself.

The first iteration was good but wasn't quite there. But this new website is what I had in mind when I first designed it a while back. Now it's a thing!

How do all of these random OSS projects have Twitter accounts? I can't manage my own account.

A lot of tech that I knew 2 years ago feel near irrelevant today. It's wild how fast web development has changed in that time.

I think I'm hitting some of TypeScript's limitations (which is a first for me). Transforming a function while retaining code docs may not be possible except in very specific circumstances. I'm hoping that I'm wrong as it would be super useful for my RPC library.

I'm gone for a day and Tech Twitter has turned into Milk Twitter. I'm so lost.

Oh wow I was not expecting that response to my post. I'm very happy that someone other than me is excited about RPC!

How do you block all of these "save thread" bots?

I love the idea of using Raycast but I'm legitimately scared to install it. The extensions use Node after all, some of the best are third-party, and there's no sandboxing.

Everyone's asking for Google Domains alternatives but you can't tell me anyone truly used the service. It was doomed from the start.
