Except for a handful of people who have brainwashed themselves into believing that Iran somehow mattered a lot to the US, Americans won't give a shit one way or the other and they will be right, because Iran doesn't really matter to the US one way or the other as long as Hormuz stays open.
If the strait had remained closed, gas prices had gone through the roof and the world economy had exploded, on the other hand, they would have cared a lot. For all his faults, Trump at least understands that, whereas hawks don't. This fiasco will hurt him, but it was still better to cut his losses.
So can we all agree that if Trump hands Iran $25 billion for any deal, his presidency is effectively over? And he's officially a lame duck?
