3,716,106 deportation cases are pending in immigration courts across the country. About a third of them (and maybe many more) are asylum cases, where the individual is seeking humanitarian protection. As Attorney General, Matt Gaetz's decisions could shape their case outcomes.

The Biden administration massively expanded the electronic monitoring of immigrants, restricted access to asylum, left 287(g) in place, and increased deportations. So yes, the Trump administration does have βwhat they needβ to carry out mass deportations.

I understand why people are leaving, but I can't stop thinking that US-based academics relocating to that more civil forum will only further isolate the university from the rest of US society and the rest of the world. As a public anthropologist, I am determined to stay.

This happened to us. I opened the door & said "what are you doing??" The teen ran away so his friends & I just kind of looked at each other confused. To his credit, he came back, apologized, & returned the candy. I explained to him how video doorbells worked. Ahh, teenagersπ
