I'm trying something new with my office hours! 💡 I added this into my syllabus for teaching statistics this Fall. It's inspired by and modeled on the approach used by @vijisathy from #inclusiveteaching (co-authored by @DrMrsKellyHogan). #TeachPsych #AcademicTwitter #phdchat

For my Psychopathology course, students transformed a scientific concept from psychology into a creative medium (e.g., painting, choreography, poetry, podcast, children’s book)…and I am absolutely blown away by their work 🥹 @TeachPsych

Their accompanying reflections are also so moving, often describing how this assignment was initially intimidating but that it helped them realize their strengths and capabilities (creatively and intellectually) in new ways.

Hey @AcademicChatter and #OpenScience What preregistration options are there for registering the analytic plan(s) when using public survey data (e.g., NHANES, HINTS)? And would it essentially be the honor code because the data is already available? Thanks!

As a #newPI, I can't believe that this article is one of the top 10 highest cited articles in recent years from Annals of Behavioral Medicine! @BehavioralMed Lung cancer stigma remains pervasive and needs to be addressed!🎗️ #endlungcancerstigma #LCSM doi.org/10.1093/abm/kaz063

Screening rates for lung cancer are alarmingly low, and we encourage healthcare providers to discuss and recommend lung screening more regularly with their eligible patients. Honored to publish this work alongside @drCarterBawa @leah_walsh_ and Dr. Sue Rawl 4/4
