Post election radio this morning with Leon Compton. The race is still too close to call based on the preference count that is happening right now. What we do know is that every polling booth in areas impacted by salmon farming was won by the community independent campaign.

Approving Santos's Barossa gas project will lock Aus into decades of climate pollution. At 15.2 million tonnes of emissions each year, it’s expected to be one of the dirtiest gas fields globally. We need to cut pollution not open new fossil fuel projects. abc.net.au/news/2025-04-22/s…

What a seismic, damaging abuse of process the Tasmanian premier is pursuing here. Who can have faith in any planning laws if they are tossed out when the going gets tough?
Good morning everyone, a quick update from me regarding Mac Point. This is a once in a generation project. One that we cannot afford to not deliver. That’s why I’ve fought so hard on this, for years now. We’re working on tight timeframes- I don’t want to wait another second to bring our AFL dream to life. Any delays impact our ability to build an AFL club. To hire key staff. To build a High Performance Centre in Kingston. To send a message to workers finishing up on major projects like the Bridgewater Bridge that the next big project is coming. It has become clear over the last week that the current process is undermining confidence in the future of the project. So we’ll be bringing laws into Parliament to get the Mac Point Precinct approved. And we’ll be doing it next month. Every Member of the Tasmanian Parliament will have their say on this project - just as the current process requires. And every Tasmanian will have the chance to give their feedback, to inform the legislation. But make no mistake, this has already been the most scrutinised project in Tasmanian history. And I'm taking this action because I believe it’s in the best interests of our great State. It’s time to get building.

$10BN for new housing supply for first homeowners is very welcome. I’ll keep pushing for ⬆️$$ for social & affordable housing homelessness support. Where is the structural reform so we start treating housing as a human right, not an investment vehicle? davidpocock.com.au/housing_i…

🤯 Disastrous policy for all of society. Climate-related extremes also set to become apocalyptic without the science needed to prepare for them.
