@BCLions vs @sskroughriders begin their seasons, as the defending champs are at home with a 7pm Eastern kickoff @CBSSportsNet @CFLonTSN A pair of star QB's Nathan Rourke (Lions) and Trevor Harris (Riders) will want to take step one in gaining control of the Western Division, so these are four point games. The Riders will have familiar faces in many areas, OT Jemarcus Hardrick returns, he will team with OT Parker Collins who shared LT reps as a rookie. RB AJ Ouellette will be a center piece, he's joined by WR's Samuel Elimus, Kian Schaffer-Baker and KeeSean Johnson. On defense, HC Corey Mace has a number of big-play defenders to help in his quest to defend the Grey Cup, MLB Jameer Thurman, HB Rolan Milligan and CB Tevaughn Campbell. WLB Josh Woods is a big addition, how younger pass rushers DE Desmond Evans, DT Kaleb Sanders and Canadian DL Ali Saad play with DL Mike Rose early on can make this one of the most complete defenses in the CFL. Lions QB Nathan Rourke rated #1 overall player in the CFL entering this season, he needs a MVP season to help get his team past the Riders and other West competitors. He had nearly 6,000 total yards, and will once again have his primary weapons, WR Keon Hatcher, WR Justin McInnis and RB James Butler to work with. Their OL was solid a year ago and could improve once OT Isiah Cage is healthy. Where BC hopes for added consistency is from their defense, who are very capable of pressuring opposing QB's thanks to Mathieu Betts and Levi Bell, added punch comes in the form of DT Casey Sayles, MLB Darnell Sankey. The backend has some new faces, but HB Robert Kent had a really good rookie campaign. The Riders added RT specialist James Letcher who will flip field position for them, new American kicker Alex Hale will be thrown right in the fire, punter Oscar Chapman is a strong-legged former SEC standout. BC has K Sean Whyte one of the most consistent kickers in CFL history, WR/RT Seven McGee had some key returns for Lions as a rookie.
